Dining in the Gorge!

Here at Husum Highlands we love supporting locally owned businesses and providing our guests with unique experiences. Below are two of our favorite spots that we highly recommend.

If you're looking for a local gem, Henni's Kitchen and Bar is a must. It's hard to find a restaurant that offers a diverse selection of cultural dishes, but Henni's is known for just that – and that they make everything from scratch. From their South African bobotie to their Italian gnocchi and Spanish pupusas, Henni's provides a unique and memorable dining experience. For the less adventurous, not to worry, Henni's also offers classic tacos, curries, pastas and burgers. Locally owned and operated by possibly the cutest husband and wife, (Christiaan and Sarah married after just two days of knowing each other) the restaurant is a labor of their love. Not only are their dishes handcrafted, their décor and furniture is hand-selected from local resale shops and the upholstery on their beautiful booths and chairs as well as their unique bar and copper table tops were handmade by Sarah's father. The perfect place for family and friends, Henni's promises not to disappoint.

Another one of our favorite cozy hangouts is Everybody's Brewing which, like Henni's, also creates delicious seasonal dishes from local ingredients. Try the Nachos- you'll thank us! Located in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge boasting a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood, Everybody's Brewing is the perfect place for the beer connoisseur in that it offers a wide selection of tasty classic, seasonal and local harvest brews. Another reason we love Everybody's Brewing is because they offer exciting special events as well as a wide variety of eclectic live music including jazz and blues. If you're in town this March, their next live music event is on Friday, March 10th and will feature an appalachian folk-punk musician.

Snow, Snow, Beautiful SNOW!!

The winter in the Pacific Northwest this year has been... well... interesting! When you have a functioning farm, there is still work to be done, regardless of what it looks like outside. Up here at Husum Highlands B&B, we decided to venture out and have a little fun in our snowy fields.

We have had one storm after another this season, and while it means some missed school or work days, it also means something else for ski lovers and enthusiasts everywhere... a big beautiful snowpack to ski on!

Mt. Adams has 11 beautifully groomed snow parks, and for serious skiers, adventure awaits on these breathtaking slopes.

Skiing Mt. Adams is definitely a unique adventure, and you can find out a little bit more about Mt. Adams HERE.

Another perk of being located between two amazingly beautiful mountains is that our location has access to twice the fun! Mt Hood currently has 30'' of powder delight!
